Isabel Katana, 94, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008

The USU Women's Center remembers and honors the Logan woman who reached out to anyone in need and wishes to be remembered by having others follow her example. She established the Isabel Katanas scholarship and financial aid fund in 1995 which has helped many students to achieve their academic goals over the years. We will miss her. Women Over 65 Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony - 2008

The USU Women's Center Advisory Board honors Vida B. Gines, Jeri Malouf, and Janet Osborne for their personal achievements and outstanding contributions to the community of women on a local, state, or national level. These women serve as role models for other women and aid in the continued effort for equality.

Women's Art - Women's Vision: National Women's History Celebration - Mar. 6, 2008



Exhibits, performances and art displays were available in the TSC International Student Lounge and Sunburst Lounge to celebrate National Women's History Month focusing on vision and art.

The Business of Being Born - Feb. 27, 2008



Birth: it's a miracle. A rite of passage. A natural part of life. But more than anything, birth is a business. Actress Ricki Lake recruited filmmaker Abby Epstein to examine and question the way American women have babies. The film, which was shown at the TSC Auditorium interlaced intimate birth stories with surprising historical, political and scientific insights and shocking statistics about the current maternity care system and examined the question of whether most births should be viewed as a natural life process, or should every delivery be treated as a potentially catastrophic medical emergency.
